Clifford L. Creel, Ph.D.

Dr. Creel has been managing people and projects for over 30 years and has a reputation for delivering projects on time, on budget and on specification.

Yes, software can be delivered on time!  A veteran of the software industry shows you how to do it.  Whether your software project involves a large IT department, or just a small group of developers, the PMC method of project management presented in this seminar can help you be more productive and keep your project on schedule.

In this seminar, you will receive training in practical methods for planning a project, for estimating the project cost and delivery date, for monitoring the project status and for solving problems that arise during development.  These techniques apply to all languages and all types of projects: server, client or web.

Of particular interest to many participants is the section on "what to do if..." where you are presented with a number of real world problems that you are likely to encounter.  You are given advice on how to deal with these difficulties, and group discussion is encouraged so that participants can share their insights.

This two day seminar will teach you the PMC method of software project management.  This is a time tested and proven method of delivering software projects on time, on spec and on budget.   The seminar is presented by Cliff Creel, Ph.D., who has over 30 years experience managing projects and people.

PMC Method of Software Project Management

bullet Plan - Proper planning is crucial to a successful project.  You wouldn’t build a house without a complete detailed plan, but many companies try to build software with little or the wrong plan.  The PMC method will show you what kinds of plans are needed and how to create them.  Complete examples of real plans are presented in the seminar.
bullet Monitor - Unless you know the status of the project at any point in time, you will be unable to respond to problems and changes in a timely manner.  The PMC method will show you how to properly monitor a software project.
bullet Control - To keep a project on schedule and on budget, you must act quickly and decisively to all problems, changes and issues that arise.  The PMC method will show you how to do this.  Central to this aspect is decisive and timely problem management.  The PMC method looks at many of the common problems that arise in a project and gives you ideas about to how to deal with them.  This information comes from years of experience in actually encountering most of these problems and learning what works best.

This seminar not only teaches the basics of good software project management, but also provides a wealth of information on how to make your project successful.

In this seminar,

bullet you learn how to plan a project with just enough planning to be successful, but without over planning.  A solid plan is the foundation of any successful project.
bullet you learn how to monitor a project so that you can spot problems quickly and reliably.
bullet you learn how to make quick and decisive decisions to deal with the many problems that arise during a project.
bullet you learn how to accurately estimate a project's cost and delivery time.  You cannot deliver on time and on budget if you do not have an accurate schedule and cost estimate.

The techniques taught in this seminar would be considered conventional by most project managers.  However, you learn many ways to make these conventional methods work better and more efficiently.  So, for many companies that already have a good project management system in place, you should be able to apply what you learn here almost immediately - fitting it into your current system.

You will receive down to earth, practical techniques from an industry veteran who has been using these techniques to deliver successful projects for many years.  Click here to learn more about the speaker, Dr. Cliff Creel.
