National Geographic School Publishing – Carmel, California In early 2007, after the Merger of National Geographic School Publishing and Hampton Brown School Publishing they needed a new website and hired Keene Systems to deliver a solution. The site we developed www.NGSP.com , is based on ASP.Net, SQL Server & DotNetNuke. It manages more than 16,000 education products for grades pre-school through 12 and required dozens of custom DotNetNuke modules. There is extensive integration with their back end accounting system and support of their sales force. This is an ongoing project. Graphic Packaging International (GPI) – Concord, New Hampshire www.GraphicPkg.com GPI is a 4.4 billion dollar industry leader in packaging development and design and the machinery that brings it to market. Keene Systems was hired to convert an existing packaging estimation system into ASP.Net 2.0. The existing system had numerous problems that needed to be fixed. In addition, several new features were added. This project was done in ASP.Net and SQL Server and used XML. Keene Systems was then taped for a second project which consisted of a website that would search through legacy archives of CAD files based on various search criteria. It was based on DotNetNuke, ASP.Net and SQL Server. MLS Los Cabos, A.C. - Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - www.LosCabosMLS.com LosCabosMLS.com is a site that specializes in the sale of multi-million dollar homes in Los Cabos, Mexico. Keene Systems took over all maintenance, support and expansion of this ASP.Net / SQL Server site. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center – Hanover, NH - www.DHMC.org Keene Systems Partnerered with Clinformatics to create a DotNetNuke based International Perfusion Registry (www.IcebpRegistry.com/ICEBPDNN) to share useful and actionable clinical information regarding the practice of cardiopulmonary bypass. We created numerous DotNetNuke modules to manage statistics on patient's heart procedures. HomeSite Insurance Group – Boston, MA - www.HomeSite.com Keene Systems collaborated with Bridge Consulting on a project for HomeSite Insurance Group, one of the largest insurance companies in the US. We developed part of their Agent Services site. It allowed agents to get policy summaries, do policy changes, FAX Proof of Insurance, check billing / payments, handle correspondence and do portfolio reports. The site was done in ASP.Net / SQL Server and made heavy use of web services to communicate with other internal systems. After successful delivery of the 1st project, a second project was done with Homesite. It was a desktop application written in C# that allowed them to do an email blast to agents or customers in their database. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center – Manchester New Hampshire - www.DHMC.org Developed a custom DotNetNuke system to manage information on patients in their Bariatric program, their weights, meeting dates treatments and complications. Created numerous DotNetNuke modules and used AJAX auto-complete controls to lookup patient data. A conversion program was also developed to extract data out of their legacy system. This ASP.Net system is used to keep track of patients & their drugs and allergies. Did architecture, DB design, programming and integration with Cache. The system used Microsoft Enterprise Blocks for data access. MedDepot, Inc. – Grand Prairie, Texas - www.MedDepotInc.com MedDepot is a company that provides medical equipment to the hospice care industry. They work closely with the hospice care providers to rent, deliver and setup medical equipment for hospice patients. Keene Systems developed the architectural design for their new product tracking and order processing system that would tie into each driver’s mobile phone. The site was based on DotNetNuke and integrated with Acrobat to fill in the city's building permit template. Keene Systems assisted in porting their Classic ASP / MS Access site to a new web hosting company and tracking down problems in their credit card processing. R.O.D.S. They hired Keene Systems to develop an FTP application that automatically moves files between various servers. Synterein - Concord, MA - www.Synterein.com Synterein is an independent, professional consulting firm focused on improving investment performance by applying quantitative concepts to the investment management process. Keene Systems did a 9 month project for Synterein working on various .Net based financial systems. Tree Care Industry Assn – Manchester, NH - www.NatlArb.com Keene Systems was hired to make several upgrades to their site. Legacy data from SQL Server 7 was upgraded to SQL Server 2000. Did work on Login, User maintenance, Forgot Password, Membership expiration, Member search, Accreditation info and integrated a new graphical UI. Partner's Healthcare - Wellseley, MA - www.Partners.org Partners owns several hospitals in the Boston area; Brigham and Women's Hospital, Mass General Hospital, Faulkner Hospital to name but a few. Partners hired Keene Systems to get a .Net project back on track and completely overhaul the user interface. This patient healthcare management system was done in ASP.Net / C#. All data access was done through web services calls to a Cache database on the back end. Southwest Exchange Corporation - Las Vegas, NV Developed an online system to manage all of the steps involved with processing a 1031 property exchange. It managed customers, brokers, exchangers and bankers. This had a very complex database schema and was developed in ASP.Net / C# / SQL Server. Data access was based on Microsoft's Data Access Application Blocks (DAAB). Our ASP.Net Architecture was a success after 2 other companies tried and failed with the project. Breeds Hill Insurance - Charlestown, MA - www.BreedsHill.net Keene Systems worked with Delaero to develop an ASP.Net / C# / SQL Server web application to manage insurance information. The system allows their customers (agents) to fill out an online insurance application. The project made extensive use of the Microsoft Data Access Application Blocks (DAAB), Infragistics tools, Excel spreadsheets and CrystalReports. This was a 6 month project. Informa Global Markets - Westford, MA - www.InformaGM.com/gml Keene Systems built an online system to manage securities and banking information. The system was written in C# / ASP.Net with SQL Server on the back end. Data access was done through Microsoft Data Access Application Blocks (DAAB). This was a 5 month project. Image Stream Medical - Littleton, MA - www.ImageStreamMedical.com Keene Systems assisted in the development of a video archive viewer used to review videos of medical operations. The project included developing a user interface in ASP.Net / C# that interacted with their video archive technology. Bardstone Associates - Dallas, TX Did an ASP.Net / VB.Net / SQL Server project converting their existing VB6 desktop application to a web application. The application tests marriage counselors and records the results in SQL Server. This uses the VB version of the Microsoft Data Access Application Blocks (DAAB). The Dupont Group - Concord, NH - www.DupontGroup.com Dupont Group is a company specializing in Goverment Relations, Public Relations and Regulatory Affairs. Keene Systems developed a desktop application that connectes nightly to the NH state legislature website to download all of the bills currently before the house and senate into a local database. Since the state provides no direct access to this data, a custom screen scraping methodology was employed. The application was written in C#. State Street Research (now owned by BlackRock, Inc.) - Boston, MA - www.BlackRock.com State Street was a mutual fund management company. We developed an internal HR application to calculate bonuses. The application was written in C# / JavaScript / ASP.Net / SQL Server. Keene Systems was hired as the .Net architect and lead web developer. We developed a fully object oriented, 3-tier application to manage their entire bonus compensation program. It worked as both a database application and a spreadsheet to calculate allocation of bonuses throughout the organization. MeansBusiness.com, Woodstock, VT - After concluding the sale of my software company, Sarbrook, Inc., I became an angel investor in Internet start-up MeansBusiness.com and served as a senior software engineer. www.MeansBusiness.com  sells business book extracts on the Internet. Designed and developed Internet database applications in ASP, JavaScript, DHTML and SQL Server 7. Also utilized IIS, Interdev and Visual SourceSafe. Developed the MeansBusiness content management tool, which consisted of 120 ASP pages that interact with a SQL Server 7 database via ADO. Was the sole developer on this project and performed all aspects of the software product life cycle from inception to delivery of product. Tasks included: user needs assessment, user interface design, graphic artwork, ASP development, JavaScript/DHTML development & cross browser issues, database design, SQL Server 7 stored procedures using T-SQL, IIS setup, SourceSafe setup, conversion of legacy system data, VB maintenance utilities, testing, user support & ongoing code maintenance.

Other primary function was to develop a comprehensive Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy. Designed 10 independent thematic websites.  Developed thousands of pages to safely expose content to the search engines. Developed English language parsing and key phrase analysis algorithms for this task. Results were dramatic, achieving number one rankings for many search terms which ultimately quadrupled traffic to the website. Mack Trucks, Inc., Allentown, PA - Developed portions of MACKnet 98 with VB 5. MACKnet allows dealers around the world to process warranty claims, order parts and download engine data via dial-up connection to a mainframe. Made extensive use of SQL and Access tables. Utilized several third party controls such as Sheridan Data Widgets. Duties included Visual Basic 5 programming, database design, UI design, creating Active-X objects, and developing InstallShield installations. Started rewriting system in Java & Java Server Pages. 

VICE-PRESIDENT / CO-FOUNDER / SENIOR ARCHITECT - VB / C Jan 1991 - Feb 1997
The Sarbrook Co., Inc., Dallas, TX - Became a partner in The Sarbrook Co., Inc. and took over product development. Developed a database driven Document Control system to manage manufacturing specs for Fortune 500 companies. Personally wrote 132,000 lines of Borland C code. Later rewrote the entire system in Visual C & Visual Basic 3.0. Database work was done in Oracle, Sybase and Paradox . Used several third party controls for CAD, imaging and OLE. Did software installations, web page design, client/server development, SQL, MAPI and VB optimization. Was involved in every aspect of the business including: strategic planning, sales and marketing, managed a team of 4 programmers, wrote VB/C code, developed design specs and did quotes for custom programming. Motorola Corporation, Austin, TX - Developed a prototype graphical user interface in Turbo C and did Adept robot programming for a robot work cell that assembled the Motorola 68040 chip. This was a project done through Cybex.

Texas Instruments, Process Automation Center Dallas, TX - Developed a text based user interface in Turbo Pascal for the lead inspect product line. Did motion control and RS232 communication to synchronize events of 3 independent CPUs. 

SOFTWARE CONTRACTOR - C  Mar 1989 - Feb 1990
Texas Instruments, Process Automation Center Dallas, TX - Developed a robot work cell that assembles EPROM chips. Duties included graphical user interface development in Turbo C, RS232 communications, motion control, ladder logic, graphics, memory management and process synchronization of 3 PCs,  2 PLCs and a robot controller. Did some minimal PLC programming on Omron PLCs.  Spent a month in Singapore installing system in the clean room at the TI plant.

SOFTWARE CONTRACTOR - PLS Sep 1988 - Mar 1989
IBM Corporation, Austin, TX -Worked on the development of the OS/2 operating system. Developed code in PLS286 and 80286 assembler for portions of the communication manager. Also worked in a VM/CMS environment.

Harris Corporation, Controls & Composition, Melbourne, FL - Worked on a graphics editor for energy management systems. Developed in C using GKS and UNIX.

Atlanta Computer Consultants, Cocoa Beach, FL - Developed property management and accounting software in Turbo Pascal and 8086 Assembler.  Was a member of a 4 person team that developed several hundred thousand lines of code.  This was before the days of popular database tools for the PC, so, all database work was completely managed by the programmer.

Brownell-Bitner Management Consultants, Melbourne, FL -Converted construction project management software written in FORTRAN from a Data Automation computer to an IBM PC. Wrote software tools in Pascal and BASIC to analyze old, undocumented FORTRAN programs.

US ARMY, 25th Data Processing Unit (West Germany) - Responsible for software development of batch and interactive Army strength accounting applications written in COBOL under VM/CMS and MVS OS JCL environments. Developed training requirements for new personnel.

PROGRAMMER - COBOL / BASIC  Nov 1980 - Mar 1983
US ARMY, Combat Developments, Ft. Harrison, IN. - Wrote numerous military applications in COBOL and BASIC. Worked in VAX and VM/CMS environments. Had an opportunity to work on programming the prototype "Data Key".  It was a set of dog-tags with an EPROM chip in it that was being studied as a method of storing a soldier's medical & pay information. 

PROGRAMMER - BASIC Oct 1978 - Jun 1980
Laconia Vocational Education Center, Laconia, NH - Wrote a purchase order system in BASIC on a TRS-80. 
 

MILITARY: Served in the US Army from June 1980 to June 1984 as a 74F Programmer/Analyst. Honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist-5. Received two Army Commendation Medals, one good conduct medal and held a secret clearance for four years (Jun 80 - Jun 84).
